- Octagonal shape creates more turbulence and a stronger vortex than a round, cylindrical shape or a polygonal shape
- Teflon (PTFE) casing is chemically inert, can be used with corrosive chemicals, and helps reduce friction and wear while spinning
- Built-in pivot ring helps reduce vibration and wear during stirring
- Internal magnet made from samarium cobalt provides stronger magnetic attraction in viscous solutions and at high speeds than a magnet made from an alloy of alnico V
- Green color for quick identification
Reduce frequency of spinout in viscous solutions or when stirring at high speeds. The high magnetic field strength of Samarium Cobalt (Rare Earth) magnets can provide stronger coupling with the drive magnet of a stir plate keeping the stirring bar centered and rotating effectively.
