Malian legendary guitarist Lobi TraorÂ© was recorded live in one of the many dimly lit grimy night clubs of Bamako. His overdriven amp, ungrounded fuzzbox pedal and the occasional blast of feedback made for a raw electric blues soundscape distinctly African in its rhythm and phrasing. Bwati Kono was Lobi's last album before he passed away and it's been noted by Guitar Player Magazine as Lobi's best album ever to be released. Also available on vinyl containing one half of the live recording that appears on the CD. (A second volume will follow on vinyl in the future).
