LIGHTSPEED is an online science fiction and fantasy magazine. In its pages, you will find science fiction: from near-future, sociological soft SF, to far-future, star-spanning hard SF--and fantasy: from epic fantasy, sword-and-sorcery, and contemporary urban tales, to magical realism, science-fantasy, and folktales.

This month, we have original science fiction by Caroline M. Yoachim (â€œSeven Wonders of a Once and Future Worldâ€) and Megan Arkenberg (â€œAll in a Hot and Copper Skyâ€), along with SF reprints by Daniel H. Wilson (â€œGod Modeâ€) and Carrie Vaughn (â€œHarry and Marlowe Meet the Founder of the Aetherian Revolutionâ€).

Plus, we have original fantasy by Sean McMullen (â€œThe Ninth Seductionâ€) and Heather Lindsley (â€œWerewolf Loves Mermaidâ€), and reprints by Maurice Broaddus (â€œThe Iron Hutâ€) and Theodora Goss (â€œEstella Saves the Villageâ€).

All that, and of course we also have our usual assortment of author spotlights, a feature interview with award-winning writer and translator Ken Liu, and the latest installment of our book review column. Plus, because our cover artist this month couldnâ€™t participate in our regular artist showcase feature, we substituted a movie review column, and thus are pleased to present an insightful look at Mad Max: Fury Road from the always-delightful Carrie Vaughn.
