FLEXIBLE SILICONE MOLD ~~~Before purchasing, please read Item Description: Round Sun Moon Doll Face Cab Mold (measurements of face, only, are approximate + or - 1/16th") Face Mold #41 - Casted piece will be approx. 1 7/16" Diameter x 1/2" Deep NOTE: Under Amazon's "Product Details/Product Dimensions" category, the weight/dimensions refer to the mold, itself and are generalized since measurements of handmade products will vary. This listing features one flexible mold for sale. The face cab (not for sale) is provided nearby to show the end product, a direct casting. MOLD INSTRUCTIONS: The mold can be used for casting chocolate, butter, pastries, isomalt, gumpaste, fondant, and other confectioneries. If used for baking, it's recommended the oven temp not exceed 395 degrees (F). If you're new to working with flex molds, the internet is full of "How To..." sites on preferred methods. One recommendation includes a YouTube video tutorial titled, "How to Sculpt a Face Using Molds" by Artisan Cake Company. (The first 4.5 minutes of this 18 minute video demonstrates a successful technique for casting soft clays {in this case, fondant} in a silicone face mold.) IMPORTANT: Even though these molds can also be used for non-edible items like polymer clay (various brands), PMC, low-melt metals (max recommended casting temp of 350 degrees "F"), plaster, urethane/epoxy/polyester resins, vinyl, wax, soap, cement and more, it is recommended you use them for "edible" or "inedible" casting materials (i.e. one or the other, NOT both). For edible castings, please be sure to wash the molds in hot soapy water before using. Slight distortions/uneven features are intended by the artist making each face unique, with character. Molds are hand made so slight imperfections, size and color variations may exist while overall impression remains the same.
