This fashionable dress is very simple to make. It consists of a bodice and skirt front and back pieces, over which are draped a cape and over-skirt with matching points in the back. Make it with or without sleeves. The suggested fabrics are: Silk taffeta, silk velvet, silk organza, silk satin charmeuse, cotton voile, cotton organdy or handkerchief linen. The popular colors of the time were: Flag and lapis blue, terracotta, cedar-wood, ashes of rose, seawood, Miami and shamrock green, falcon grey, plover, Queenbird (purple), lavender, garnet red, cocoa brown, begonia (light rust), black, claret red and briar rose.
