An updated re-issue of the 1984 classic blueprint set 13 Color Mini-Posters 8-1/2" x 14" printed on acid free paper Includes the following vessels: Pan-Am Orion Spaceplane (3 sheets) Space Station 5 Aries-1B Shuttle (2 Sheets) Moon Bus (2 Sheets) Discovery 1 Jupiter Mission Spacecraft Discovery 1 Work Pod (2 Sheets) I created the original blueprint set in 1984 as a series of pen & ink illustrations. They were printed on 17" x 22" paper and were very successful. To celebrate the 40th. anniversary of the release of the movie I have dusted off the source illustrations, digitized and enhanced the images, and created 13 new pages with color accents and new graphics. I also made some corrections to some dimensions and nomenclature based on new research and feedback from others. These illustrations have always been a favorite of mine, an expression of my love of the epic 1968 movie. As you may know, at the end of filming the movie, Stanley Kubrick destroyed all models and props to prevent them from being used in low-budget movies by the studio. Because of this, there are a group of die-hard fans who have dedicated their free time to reconstructing the original dimensions and sets. When I created these illustrations I used still photos and the VHS copy of the movie. Now that everyone has access to high-resolution DVD copies of the movie it is possible to spot several minor discrepancies between the 1984 illustrations and the actual craft. These illustrations have been left as-is.
