2W 445nm M140 Blue Diode in Copper Module W/Leads & Three Element Glass Lens
Listing is for a single 2W M140 445nm blue diode mounted in a 12mm x 30mm copper module with leads and a three element glass lens. The copper module upgrade provides a huge improvement in thermal conductivity over the standard brass module for moving the heat away from the diode to your heatsink which gives a much more stable output from the diode. Save yourself the headache of pressing and soldering. Just add host, heatsink and driver. The three element glass lens will give the lowest divergence of any lens available but has some splash and the 405-G-2 gives about 30% more power and has a cleaner output. I also have a combo with the G-2 instead of the three element. See my other listings.;) Wire assignment is: Red + Black - White Case Diodes are current hungry and as they heat up their internal resistance is lowered causing them to want to draw more current. Don't attempt to connect the diode directly to a fixed voltage source like a battery. You must use a proper LD driver like an X-drive limited to no more than 1.8A or you diode will suffer thermal runaway and die. If you don't already have one see this one. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00V5CF0MU
