For best results, use on clean, flat surfaces with smooth finish. Objects with textured, brushed or satin finishes or surface variations degrade the air-tightness of vacuum seal reducing lift capacity. Pulling/lifting at angle other-than 90-degrees from surface also affects performance. In our tests, the cups were placed on flat 18-ga sheet metal with semi-gloss finish and lift was applied at 90-degrees until cups broke free - consistently requiring more than 75 lbs of lift. Coating cup-rim lightly with small amount of vegetable/petroleum oil may improve seal quality on some surfaces.
