Welcome to this 17th handbook of mine. This book is all about Rook endgames, which represent a large portion of all endgames.
Have you already tried reading Müller, de la Villa, Nunn, Emms, Ward? Did it leave you wandering through a dense fog?
In this book, I present only a dozen different situations. While this may seem very sparse compared to other famous books, I believe that if you are able to understand and remember these few situations, you will have a significant advantage over most of your opponents.Â
Simply look inside and try the simple introductory test. If you cannot readily see the answer, then this handbook should be able to help you.
While I tried to keep it simple, this book is a bit more difficult than most of my other books. Nevertheless, if your rating is at least 1400, you should be able to understand the material.
To help with understanding, links to sample games are provided (for which an Internet connection is needed, of course). While this book is written for viewing on a Kindle, following along on a real chessboard can be very helpful. Enjoy.
