Gone are the days of relentlessly tapping your vehicle's harmonic balancer with a hammer and wooden block for ineffective and time-consuming removal. To safely install or remove harmonic balancers and drive pulleys, use the ABN Universal Harmonic Balancer Puller & Installer 52-Piece Tool Kit - Master Balancer & Pulley Removal/Installation Set. Every engine is different, but you'll generally want to remove the belt from the crankshaft pulley and take off the harmonic balancer mounting bolt with a socket and ratchet. From there, you'll use this tool to take off the balancer from the crankshaft. Reinstalling is the same steps in reverse. Compare the old part and the new part to make sure the bolt hole locations are the same, and always pay attention to the proper torque settings.
