What can ozone do for the aquarium? Ozone is a very reactive form of oxygen that can destroy an enormous variety of liquid waste materials and toxins. For aquariums, the use of an ozone generator offers a simple, highly effective method to maintain a clean and stable environment for the plants and animals. The ORP (Oxidation, Reduction Potential or Redox) is a measure of the oxidization capacity of water. The injection of ozone into the water can improve the efficiency of protein skimming and raises the ORP (Redox potential),thus increasing oxygen levels (NO2 + O3 = NO3 + O2)and decreasing dissolved wastes; additionally, ozone can effectively kills numerous harmful pathogens. The decomposition of toxic nitrite is enhanced whilst the bacteria count in the water decreases, minimizing the risk of ill health in the animals. The compounds that produce yellow coloring in the aquarium are broken down and the water stays crystal clear. It is important to remember that very low doses of ozone can yield excellent results in most cases, and that overdosing can be harmful to aquarium inhabitants. MORE IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER! You also do not want high concentrations of ozone to escape into the air, as it is a lung irritant at high levels. Our ozone generator utilizes the latest technology for safety and reliability and can be used either as a stand-alone unit or with an ORP Controller. Maximum Output: 150mg / hr Dimension: L 8" x W 7"x H 2.5" Designed for 110V / 60Hz 7Watts Instructions: Use an air pump to introduce fresh air through the inlet marked with "IN". The air will be treated to contain a higher concentration of O3. For fresh water tanks, the air tube connected to the outlet should be attached to an air stone. For the salt water tanks, the air tube connected to the outlet should be attached to a reactor/diffuser or protein skimmer equipment (Air pump and stone are not included).
