The great reproduction of the vintage French liquor advertising art poster for the controversial "ABSINTHE PERNOT" by Leonetto Cappiello. The alcoholic beverage is now banned in France because of it's hallucinogenic. The story of a love affair between an artist and a city. Leonetto Cappiello (9 April 1875 in Livorno, Italy - 2 February 1942 in Cannes, France) was an Italian poster art designer who lived in Paris. He was so enamored with the City of Light that he quickly became a naturalized citizen. Subsequently, he became the most outstanding posterist to emerge in the period between 1900 and the outbreak of World War I. In a career that spanned over 40 years, he produced an average of two posters a month. It is now estimated that he created over 1,000 designs, not only for French clients but for advertisers all over Europe.
