There have been many standout albums recorded during the period, with this particular album showing the unusual sound the trio (Jamal on piano, bassist Israel Crosby and drummer Vernell Fournier) were capable of achieving. Indeed, the versions of Cheek To Cheek, Taboo and Secret Love in particular as probably as far removed from the sound originally envisaged by the respective composers.
