Sweetgrass lives up to its name with its sweet aroma. Sweetgrass can be found in northern regions of North America (and Europe) in areas where water is plentiful: marshes, wet meadows, the banks of streams, and more. It's attractive aroma has led it to be used as a perfume and incense, pillow stuffing, and decoration. It is considered sacred by Native American cultures, and is one of their four sacred plants (tobacco, cedar, and sage are the other three).
