Americano, the debut album for harmonia mundi by Spanish virtuoso guitarist Pablo Villegas, takes us on a musical journey through different countries, aesthetics, composers, and styles of the Americas. The recording's eighteen colorful and diverse tracks include the world premiere recording of Rounds by Academy Award-winning composer John Williams, music from Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story, preludes by Brazilian master Heitor Villa-Lobos, the popular standard Granada by Mexico's Agustin Lara and remarkable arrangements of traditional American bluegrass.
