MR77A replacement instructions: Our Anderic FAN2R-RR7078TR Ceiling Fan kit WILL replace the MR77A receiver. You do have to purchase the kit due to the fact that the remote (TR171B) for the MR77A receiver works on a different frequency than the FAN2R substitute receiver does. The MR77A receiver has a bracket that holds it in place in the fan, that bracket has small little ear tabs and those tabs need to be snapped off so that the new 2R will fit in the bracket then placed back in the fan. You can wiggle or move these tabs back and forth and they will snap/break off easily. The new 2R receiver will just sit in the fan, however, if you want to secure it to something, just use a few drops of silicone to hold it in place.
