AQUANEAT Aquarium Bio Sponge Filter Breeding Beta Shrimp Nano Fish Tank Water Corner Filter 10 Gallon
New design: quarter-cylinder shape increases the surface area to get a better water and oxygen exchange rate. It also make the filter easy to hide in the corner of a tank
Sponge filter provide both mechanical and bio filtration, also, the air infusion chamber produces minute bubbles which increase the oxygen solubility
Safe for fish: soft sponge material, traps floating debris and won't suck up your fish, excellent for small size fish like betta, dwarf cichlid, guppy, killifish etc., or for hatcheries, maternity tanks, and fry tanks, as the filter produces minimal current and has almost no way to suck the fish through the filter
Easy to set up & clean: simply install an airline into the unit and turn on the air pump, simply rinse and squeeze sponge in tank water
Recommend tank size: up to 10 gallon; Dimension: 2.25"Lx2.25"Wx5.00"H
Features: The newly designed quarter-cylinder shape increases the surface area to get a better water and oxygen exchange rate. It also makes the filter easy to hide in the corner of a tank. Sponge filters provide both mechanical and biological filtration. Simply install an airline into the unit and provide both aeration and filtration for your fish. Aerobic bacteria colonize the sponge providing a bacterial substance to facilitate the nitrogen cycle. In addition, the sponge traps larger waste particles mechanically cleaning the water without trapping baby fish. They are useful for as breeding filter or as secondary filter. Or they can be used as pre-filtration unit by fitting to an external or a top filter. Dimension: Model: XY-2890 Product Dimension: 2.25"Lx2.25"Wx5.00"H Max. Tank Size: 10 GAL Includes: 1 piece of sponge filter How Does It Work? A sponge filter uses bubbles of air from an external air pump, or an integral water pump to draw water through the sponge. As water is drawn out through the lift tube or pump, it is replaced by water entering the sponge. The sponge is a mechanical filter and the surface of all the bubbles or pockets in the sponge provide a bed for the bacteria of a biological filter. The bacteria help to break down harmful waste (ammonia and nitrite). Sponge filters provide both mechanical and biological filtration. Most sponge filters are reasonably efficient filters for small volume tanks. These filter are excellent for small size fish like dwarf cichlid, guppy, killifish etc., or for hatcheries, maternity tanks, and fry tanks, as the filter produces minimal current and has almost no way to suck the fish through the filter. Also, the air infusion chamber produces minute bubbles which increase the oxygen solubility.
