- WHO ARE WE? - We started Arca Gear after a visit to our local beach right here in South Florida in 2015. There was so much plastic on the beach it was painful to see. As a family, we decided to purchase stainless steel bottles and committed ourselves to ending our household use of plastic bottles. We quickly felt the hassle of our new 40 oz bottles though. They were heavy and awkward to carry in our hands, they rolled all around in the car and we just felt hassled instead of being hydrated.
Arca Gear Hydro Carriers were born out of necessity. We were tired of lugging our stainless water bottles around by hand. Our 32, 40 & 64 oz bottles were very heavy and awkward to hold no matter what we did. We were hassled instead of being hydrated, so we decided to create the Hydro Carrier. After a year in the design process, we would like to think we thought of almost everything! Our Hydro Carrier allows you to easily carry any of the larger stainless (and plastic) bottles (32, 40 & 64 oz) over the shoulder with ease. As an added bonus, we decided to fit a water resistant pouch that could easily carry our wallet, keys and cell phone so that they were not in our pockets and we could wear whatever was comfortable without an issue. We wanted something that would be durable and useful for going on vacations, doing outdoor activities but nice enough to carry around the mall. We used heavy duty ballistic nylon for durability, button straps to attach onto existing gear and a water resistant zipper to keep stored items dry. We spent months crafting our shoulder strap to disperse the weight of a fully loaded bottle and added gear, to feel as though there was hardly anything hanging from the shoulder.
