A CARD GAME OF GOBLINS AND EXCUSES: Aye, Dark Overlord! is a fantasy party game filled with humor that's fast to play and easy to learn. This roleplaying game is all about telling lies and shifting the blame on your poor fellow ones, so the righteous wrath of your Master can give them what they deserve!
ROLEPLAYING PARTY GAME: One player takes on the role of Rigor Mortis, the Dark Overlord, who finds that his diabolical schemes have once again been thwarted. The other players portray his cowering goblin servants, concocting ridiculous excuses to avoid the Overlord’s wrath.
STORYTELLING GAME: Each goblin player begins the game with three Hint cards. When called upon to provide an explanation for their mistakes, the player must play a Hint card and create a story based on the title, illustration, or text on that card. And it had better be good, since the Dark Overlord has no patience for stalling or boring stories.
HIGHLY VARIABLE: Featuring fast and engaging gameplay, Aye, Dark Overlord! is the perfect game to break out during a party or a goblin servant gathering. Tell lies, blame your friend, and above all, avoid the wrath of the Dark Overlord! Play it on its own or combine it with The Red Box for more variety.
NUMBER OF PLAYERS AND AVERAGE PLAYTIME: This humorous party game is made for 4 to 7 players and is suitable for ages 14 and older. Average playtime is approximately 30 minutes.
Whether it's in comic books, movies, or fantasy novels, the forces of good always seem to eke out a win over evil. Once the minions and monsters have slithered back to the darkness, however, there's an Emperor, evil Wizard, or dark Overlord demanding to know why his or her plans fell apart. Aye dark Overlord!: the red box is the classic version of the storytelling party game for four to seven players where servants give their best excuses to appease their evil master, lest they suffer the wrath of their dark Overlord. Hint cards give the players a framework for their story, but it's up to their wits to avoid the withering looks of the dark Overlord and live to serve another day. The red box is a re-release of the 2005 version of aye, dark Overlord! from fantasy flight games. Players who have been groveling as minions or ruling with an Iron fist as the dark Overlord Rigor Mortis will already be familiar with this version of the game. You can even double the fun by expanding the red box with the brand new actions and hint cards included in the green box.".
