J.S. Bach reveled in the many musical possibilities presented by concertos that feature several instruments. Drawing on the precedents of Vivaldi and others, Bach's probing musical intellect led him down novel paths of invention where the collaborative and antagonistic features of the genre reached unprecedented levels of complexity. This program features Bach's double and triple concertos performed and directed by virtuoso violinist Rachel Podger and accompanied by the dynamic and highly polished chamber ensemble Brecon Baroque.
