Bavarian Rosehip Fruit Spread by Landsberg (12 ounce)
Rosehips (fruits of the rose) have been eaten as fruit in Europe and Asia and by Native Americans for centuries. These fruits are high in Vitamin C. During World War II, British school children were given a sweet rosehip syrup made by boiling the perfumed fruits in a mixture of sugar and water. Rosehips produce a deliciously sweet spread with a slight tang and a beautiful red-orange color. The flavors are somewhat reminiscent (but not as sweet) of quality peach jelly, with a tart balance.
