The BeamLokr (beam locker) is a magnetic flashlight mount that works without the use of a rail. Why a magnetic flashlight mount? Nobody wants to unbolt a mount every time they take their weapon out during the day, and then bolt it back on before putting it away just in case you need it at night. In a home defense situation, a few seconds can make all the difference. The BeamLokr goes on and off in 1 second. How it works: 8 heavy duty rare-earth magnets secure the BeamLokr to your gun's barrel. Magnets are suspended 1mm over the barrel when attached. The magnets do not touch the barrel so no scratching will occur. Over 20 pounds of force is required to remove the BeamLokr. Easy to adjust position by hand, but will not come off when fired. Proper use: Do not use on magazine tubes. Magazine tubes do not hold magnetic attraction well. Potential issues: Slippage: Using your own light that is too heavy can cause the mount to slide a bit when the gun is fired. If this occurs, a small Velcro strap can hold it in place. Mount falls off: The primary cause of the mount falling off is improper placement. Another cause is barrels with coatings that reduce magnetic attraction. Test it.
