Love Rose xxx
…Since I was about seven or eight, I dreamed of getting married.
I dreamed of putting on a sparkling white dress and a long lace veil, long enough to drag behind me as I walked down the aisle of the Agoo Basilica. Down the rich, red carpet dotted with petals from the baskets of my cute flower girls. As I make my way to the music of the old organ, the gentle morning sunlight streaming through the stained glass windows on either side of me. The people would stare and sigh with envy and admiration, some of them at the brink of tears of joy. Nanay and Tatay, too, would have tears in their eyes as they walked on either side of me, my mother in an elegant Filipiniana and my father in a crisp barong. I, however, wouldn’t. I would be smiling every step of the way, my eyes on my handsome groom in his own stylish barong standing at the bottom of the steps of the altar. Of course, he would be smiling at me in turn, his eyes only on me.
It would be the happiest, most unforgettable moment of my life.
Or so I dreamed.
It was an incredible idea. Now, it was a nightmare…
