Limited-edition five-CD set from Film Score Monthly of the Oscar-winning score for the 1959 film starring Charlton Heston, Jack Hawkins, and Stephen Boyd. Discs 1 and 2 feature every film cue, every outtake, every alternate, and every additional take preserved by the studio, mastered from the original six-track recordings, augmented by rare material from the Miklos Rozsa collection at Syracuse University. In addition the set contains all three LP recordings released by MGM Records in conjunction with the film--including the premiere CD release of the rare (and controversial) Lion label disc. Disc 3 features the Savina album (conducted by Carlo Savina) and Act 1 alternates. Disc 4 features the first Kloss album (conducted by Erich Kloss) and Act 2 alternates. Disc 5 features the second Kloss album and additional alternates and bonus tracks. Also included is a 28-page booklet.
