Defined by Tracey Thorn's sublime, unmistakable voice and her partner Ben Watt's superb musicianship, Everything But the Girl were one of the outstanding groups of the '80s and '90s. While their biggest hits were the Top Three 'I Don't Want to Talk About It' in 1988 and 1995's Todd Terry-remixed worldwide smash 'Missing', their albums of high quality, intelligent pop regularly changed styles, from the Latin jazz of 1984's Eden and the ambitious orchestrations of Baby, the Stars Shine Bright in 1986 to 1990's smooth, adult the Language of Life and the increasingly dance floor-influenced Amplified Heart in 1994.
