Years ago my older sister asked me for a berry bowl. After few attempts to please her, (not too tall, more holes), I made one that she liked and I've been making them ever sense. Because I like to keep things as simple as possible I did not want an extra, separate plate or dish to catch the water, so the bowl is thrown all in one piece with the bottom rounded up so the water will flow out of the numerous larger holes near the base. Just rinse grapes, berries or veggies under water and, then tilt and drain. A quick wipe on the bottom with the kitchen towel and you're good to go. I use several of these at a time in my own kitchen. I just take the bowl straight out of the frig after school or maybe before dinner with grapes or veggies. The bowl never gets lost in the frig and I throw out much less food. Without a doubt my best selling item at shows this handmade blue berry bowl is shown with 1 pound of strawberries.
