Boy to the World
Jones Gibson is a hopelessly romantic nerd whose tiny world is starting to fall apart. It’s the summer he turns sixteen, and so far the only significant thing that’s happened is his parents’ separation. Forced to spend the last few weeks of vacation with his dorky dad in small town Connecticut, when he finds out his dad’s plans for him involve a PSAT prep class and badminton, Jones takes control of his life by running away to New York City to stay with his cool uncle.
Uncle Danny is a former skateboarding champion, the former lead singer of a one-hit-wonder band, and forever an adolescent. Despite secretly nursing a broken heart, Danny shows Jones his version of a good time, but the real fun begins with an adventure that Jones didn’t expect—falling in love with the impressively independent Emily Comiskey.
When Jones’s mom and dad each decide to run away to New York City too, there’s an awkward family reunion in Danny’s apartment, and Jones is not the only one who must face who he is in the world, decide what he wants, and grow up.
