Brahma Sūtras: With Govinda-bhāṣya commentary of Baladeva Vidyābhūṣaṇa
The VedÄnta-sÅ«tra, which consists of aphorisms revealing the method of understanding Vedic knowledge, is the concise form of all Vedic knowledge. The aphorisms or sÅ«tras of VedÄnta-sÅ«tra were compiled by ÅšrÄ«la VyÄsadeva, a powerful incarnation of ÅšrÄ« NÄrÄyaṇa. All the authorized and established sampradÄyas have their own commentary on VedÄnta-sÅ«tra. However, no one in Gauá¸Ä«ya SampradÄya has written a commentary on VedÄnta-sÅ«tra, until sometimes back, in Jaipur, the Gauá¸Ä«yas were challenged that "The Gauá¸Ä«ya SampradÄya has no commentary on the VedÄnta-sÅ«tra." So Baladeva VidyÄbhÅ«á¹£ana, with the order of Govindaji at Jaipur, he wrote the commentary on Brahma-sÅ«tra, which is called Govinda-bhÄá¹£ya. From then, it became the commentary on Brahma-sÅ«tra for the Gauá¸Ä«ya SampradÄya. The philosophy of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, which amalgamated the views of all the previous Acaryas in His thesis of Acintya-bhedabheda Tattva, is explicitly explained by Sri Baladeva Vidyabhusana in his Govinda Bhasya of the Vedanta-sutra. The VedÄnta-sÅ«tra, which is well known among scholars by the following additional names: (1) Brahma-sÅ«tra, (2) ÅšÄrÄ«raka, (3) VyÄsa-sÅ«tra, (4) BÄdarÄyaṇa-sÅ«tra, (5) Uttara-mÄ«mÄá¹sÄ and (6) VedÄnta-darÅ›ana. - Compiled from lectures, purports, and conversations of ÅšrÄ«la PrabhupÄda, Founder-Ä€cÄrya of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON)
