To tighten, stand the clips straight up and gently apply pressure to the middle area of the clips by slowly pressing them against the box to "stretch" them. To loosen, turn the bottom container upside down, have the clips pointed upwards and gently apply pressure to the middle area of the clips by slowly pressing them against the box.
