These are the opening chapters of "Foremost: The Fourth Mississippi Infantry in the Civil War" Mississippi Infantry, composed of farmers and settlers, marched off to fight the Civil War in the summer of 1861. They, the 26th Alabama and the 15th Arkansas, formed Drake's Brigade, fighting at Forts Henry and Donelson.
