Brotherhood of the Hunt (The Legend of Knight Donovan Book 1)
Vampires have existed for at least a millennium. Some scholars believe the Vampire species was born of a plague that poisoned the blood of normal humans, giving them a hunger for blood. Others believe they have always existed. Regardless of their origin, vampires have hunted humanity for over a thousand years, and the Brotherhood of the Hunt has been around almost as long. The Brotherhood keeps the Vampires at bay and protects the human population as best it can. It is a secret order, known only to the few, and has even fewer members.
Thomas Donovan is one of the Brotherhood’s most decorated soldier. He is a tall, brooding man who usually keeps to himself; except when he’s with his best friend, Richard Doyle. When the Knight-Commander sends them on a mission to clear out a nest of vampires, the squad sees it as a run-of-the-mill mission.
However, Donovan meets an unusual vampire, an alchemist, one that drinks a strange potion before attacking Donovan. Donovan fought him well, but the vampire soon bites him. If it weren’t for the mercenary, Eve Wayne, Donovan would surely have died or been forced to drink the vampire’s blood and be turned himself.
The vampire’s bite has an unexpected result. Not only does it give him some vampire abilities, but Donovan’s body rapidly (and painfully) transforms into a woman’s. Now with the Brotherhood on her tail, and her most intimate secret so close to being exposed, she trusts her fate in the hands of her best friend and a mercenary she just met.
