Stanisaw Skrowaczewski commands a rare position in the international musical scene, being both a renowned conducting figure and highly-regarded composer. During his long and distinguished career, he has conducted all the top orchestras, andin his 92nd year retains a busy schedule with guest engagements taking him across North America, Europe and Japan. His complete recordings of Bruckners symphonies with the Saarbrucken Radio Symphony Orchestra (now Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrucken Kaiserslautern) for Arte Nova Classics (now OehmsClassics) received enormous critical acclaim; among its honors, the 2002 Cannes Classical Award in the Orchestral 18/19th Century category and inclusion in BBC Music Magazines Top Ten Discs of the Decade. Mr. Skrowaczewskis interpretations of Bruckner, of particular note within his extensive discography, have also earned him the Bruckner Society of Americas Kilenyi Medal of Honor and the Gold Medal of the Mahler-Bruckner Society.
