CHINRIU HONTEN is a Japanese family owned maker of Japanese food using artisanal methods. The company was established 1871 by the last chief cook of Odawara castle. It is now run by the fifth generation of the same family.
Umeboshi paste is a great ingredient Japanese and fusion cuisine. You can blend the fruity and sour flavor of umeboshi with dressings, fish or meat dishes and create unique dishes. Umeboshi paste is made by removing the pit from the umeboshi and pressing the remaining pickled plum pulp through multiple sieves until the paste becomes very smooth. The producer Chinriu Honten was established in 1871 and since then produces fine foods from Japanese fruits and herbs. It is famous in Japan for its products made of ume plum and many products can be found in major department stores throughout Japan.
