For folk music fans of the late 40's, Jean represented the ideal traditional performer. In 1977 she secured her place in the popular mainstream when her album "None But One" won the Rolling Stone Critic's Award- in 1996 a documentary on her life and music was produced (Mountain Grown - the Jean Ritchie Story) and has become quite a popular program on PBS stations across America. On this classic 1964 recording of time honored carols, she is accompanied by dulcimer, recorder and harpsichord. Newly re-mastered.
