Charles Simeon was senior minister of Holy Trinity Church in Cambridge, England from 1783 until his death in 1836. During his ministerial career, he helped found several missionary societies and wrote his major work, 'Horae Homilecticae', a series of over 2500 sermon outlines on the whole Bible, intended to be good sermon illustrations for young pastors. His biographer, Handley Moule, was an Anglican theologian, writer, poet and Bishop of Durham. He authored over 60 books and pamphlets. His biography on Charles Simeon was originally published in 1892.
