Cheap Trick fans positively inhaled our first batch of rarities, so weâ€™re back with 16 more lost tracks from Rockford, Illinoisâ€™ finest! Except this time, Ken Sharpâ€™s notes feature track-by-track commentary from Bun E. Carlos, Tom Petersson, and Rick Nielsenâ€¦this collection is a deep dive into the Cheap Trick hive mind! So letâ€™s jump inâ€¦first up are three tracks taken from the 1980 EP Found All the Parts, including a live version of The Beatlesâ€™ â€œDay Tripperâ€ with an instrumental nod to The Yardbirdsâ€™ â€œShapes of Things.â€ Then comes the single â€œOh Boy,â€ followed by the demo of â€œLoser,â€ which was recorded in 1980 but was written by Nielsen way back in 1976, all CD debuts. Two live tracks, â€œThe House Is Rockinâ€™ (with Domestic Problems)â€ and â€œWay of the World,â€ from a New Yearâ€™s Eve 1979 show at the L.A. Forum raise the temperature, then come the George Martin-produced single versions of â€œWorldâ€™s Greatest Loverâ€ and â€œEverything Works If You Let It.â€ Two tracks, â€œReach Outâ€ and â€œI Must Be Dreaminâ€™,â€ from the Heavy Metal soundtrack and the title song from the Spring Break soundtrack cover the Cheap Trick silver screen legacy, while the demo version of the classic â€œIf You Want My Loveâ€ premieres on CD. The â€œSuper New Dance Re-Mixâ€ of â€œSaturday at Midnightâ€ and â€œShort Versionâ€ of â€œDancing the Night Awayâ€ also appear on CD for the first time, as does the last track, the b-side â€œGet Ready.â€ Rare photos by long-time band photographer Robert Alford accompany; the set is mastered by the great Vic Anesini at Battery Studios.
