The rush of being violently shoved across dimensions into another world has worn off. Now, Kent and his band of followers have carved out a kingdom and must defend it against all comers. Grannen, King of Araondil, still wants the land and wealth Kent controls and hasn't stopped in his efforts to reopen the mountain pass. He has given himself and his kingdom to the Galadorn in his desire for revenge. He offered his wife on the alter to Krysarriana and took the daughter of the King of Galadorn as her replacement. The Galadorn, worshippers of the goddess Krysarriana, eater of the World, want Kent's lands as well. Gold, silver, gems and enough rain for two crops a year every year, all make this the most desired real estate on the planet. The native people, the children, have agreed NOT to kill all of the nasty humans, but they have their own agenda. Their rules are simple. Kent must conquer the world and divide it between the children and the humans. The children also have an ace up their sleeve. The goddess is real, and she is one of them.
