Every time I play craps at a casino, the dealers point out my strategy to one another and are amazed by my discipline. I have been obsessed with craps ever since my undergrad years as a computer programmer. It turned out I had found the game which intrigues me to no end. The math involved, the probabilities, the house edge, betting strategies, money management strategies, betting progression theories.
I am a certified math nerd (B.S. in Computer Science and Master’s in Applied Statistics). I love the game of craps and don't claim to have made a fortune from it, but I have won consistently over the years. This book isn’t about math. I won’t bore you with a bunch of formulas and advanced concepts, that would just turn you off to this beautiful game that I love. Instead I’ll try to explain the math in more real-world terms. If you can count chips and do some simple adding and subtracting, you will easily be able to handle the math involved in the game of craps. The math cannot be avoided at times, but I’ll do my best to keep it simple.
I’ve taught many of my friends the game of craps. Some play it with me, some don’t, but everyone has fun rolling the dice! Most win money in the long run when they are smart and follow some of my strategies, and more importantly my money management rules (it is gambling after all). But, suffice it to say, we have fun, and I’m addicted to it.
Craps is a very social game and you can play with friends or even make new friends at a table. All of this and it doesn’t require memorizing any complicated perfect systems, doesn’t require advanced intelligence, and doesn’t require hours and days and months and years of practice. So here's my craps book: how I, a math nerd, plays craps, and hopefully how you will begin to play, and win too!
