Classic recordings from the late 1950's Cuban scene featuring the legendary Israel "Cachao" Lopez, Cuba's most famous and influential bass player. Cachao became known for organizing "descargas" - jam sessions where players had free reign to improvise over tightly woven rhythm patterns creating a freedom not heard previously in Cuban music. On this classic recording, Cachao leads the session on bass and is joined by first call session great Emilio Penalver on tenor sax and legendary trumpeters Armando "Chocolate" Armenteros and Alejandro "Negro" Vivar. All selections newly re-mastered. [Note: This product is an authorized CD-R and is manufactured on demand]
