The Dob Pod attaches securely to the base of your compatible Orion Dobsonian reflector and raises the entire telescope a full foot upwards for more convenient and comfortable stargazing. The Dob Pod is compatible with all Orion 4.5", 6", 8", and 10" Classic, IntelliScope, and GoTo Dobsonians. Dobsonian reflector telescopes are arguably one of the best values in stargazing equipment. Unlike their tripod-mounted counterparts, Dobsonian telescopes utilize a more affordable and easy-to-use wooden base mount as their foundation. While a Dobsonian base is stable, secure, and exceptionally functional, you cannot adjust its height as you would with a tripod. This can sometimes lead to awkward positioning of the telescope eyepiece, making it necessary to uncomfortably crouch or bend in order to observe certain celestial objects with the telescope. By attaching your compatible Dobsonian to the Orion Dob Pod, the height of the eyepiece is increased by 12" so you don't need to be a contortionist to look into the ocular comfortably.
