My mother is 101 years old and has dementia. She no longer reads, pray nor watch TV. These were activities she used to do before she had dementia but no longer do. When I became her caregiver, I learned a lot. I noticed that she would remove the pillow case from the pillow and spend time twisting and pulling the edges of the pillow case. On days that she was agitated, she would pull the sheet out of her bed, rearrange the pillows and make a mess of her bed. She would also go over pieces of paper with pictures of saints that is kept by her bedside, rearrange them many times. The activity apron is another thing she can spend her time on when she is not sleeping. This gives her more variety.
