Digitally remastered two CD set containing a pair of albums from the producer/arranger. John Davis first came to people's attention via his many early productions and arrangements out of Philadelphia for acts like William DeVaughn, Tapestry, Carol Douglas, and numerous others. It was only a matter of time before he would be approached to lead a project of his own and that opportunity came when Sam Weiss from Sam Records offered him a solo deal. The first project was a Disco-friendly album of mainly Cole Porter covers, NIGHT & DAY, which he recorded with the cream of the Philadelphia musicians. Davis tackled his own material on UP JUMPED THE DEVIL. This resulted in a huge Disco smash with his self-penned title track 'Up Jumped the Devil' and the equally popular, 'The Magic Is You'.
