It's almost 40 years since Patti Smith, the world's first true punk icon, formed The Patti Smith Group and got to work writing and recording her 1975 debut, Horses. And there began one of the most unusual careers in all of rock 'n' roll. For the first time here was a woman who would do exactly as she wanted, look the way she pleased and survive the pressures of the industry without the aid of the usual crutches such as drink and drugs. This two Disc set is a fitting tribute to one of music's true pioneers.
