Limited edition Ertl Collectibles Prestige Series Military USAAF Operation Overlord (Normany June 6, 1944) Douglas DC-3/C-47A replica airplane. Printed on the plane is "N2100795" and "4U." This plane is a fully assembled highly detailed, 1:72 scale (wing span of 15-3/4" x 10-1/2" fuselage), has retractable landing gear, rotating propellers, opening passenger/cargo door, recessed panel detail, tampo graphics (including invasion stripes) and a die cast metal stand to display the plane as if it was "in flight." The color of this US Air Force plane is khaki with black and white trim. Near the nose of the plane is a picture of a woman and the words, "Sugar Blues." This is a replica of a plane that was one of the first planes on the runway to take off for Normandy. This plane was mfd in 1995 and is new in mint condition in the original unopened mint box. It is one of 7 military inspired DC-3 replicas made by Ertl.
