For maximum results, ear cleaning should be performed immediately after a hot bath or hot shower. Hot water/air can soften earwax making it easier to extract.

Use warm purified/bottle spring water for safe and maximum results. Ear curettes/ear picks should be used as a final step to pull out remaining earwax and fluid in your ears(Never Use Q-Tips Cotton Swabs).
