Why and when you would want to use Stackable Insert Pans for Pot-in-Pot cooking? Prepare multiple foods at the same time. Excellent choice for baking cakes, steaming vegetables, cooking rice, lasagna, pasta, meat, and fish. Reheat multiple foods to preserve nutrients and flavor, without using the microwave oven or stovetop. Make 2 cheesecakes or lasagnas at the same time. Cook foods in separate insert pans, and serve and store it in the same pans. For example, when you have cooked rice and red beans, save yourself from taking out red beans and putting them in a serving pan. The Dos and Don'ts: 1.Make sure you have sufficient liquid in the Instant Pot's inner pot to generate the necessary steam to pressure cook. 2.The bottom pan cooks slightly faster than the top pan, so it is better to place the food that takes a longer time to cook in the bottom pan. 3.If you are cooking solid food such as rice or pasta then add at least 1 cup of water to the insert pan containing the solid food, and also ensure you have sufficient liquid in the Instant Pot's inner pot to generate necessary steam to pressure cook; otherwise, it won't cook. 4.When cooking foods that expand during cooking such as rice, beans or dried vegetables, do not fill the insert pan over 1/2 full for better results.
