Professional Formatted Books on the Kindle, iPad, Nook, and MoreA good deal of the eBooks found in online stores today have problematic formatting. Even huge book releases including the Harry Potter series and Walter Isaacson's Steve Jobs biography were released with formatting errors. Ebook Formatting: KF8, Mobi & EPUB is the solution to those issues.
Word Is Not Enough! While many tools will generate HTML, few of them generate the HTML and CSS necessary for well formatted EPUB or Mobi files. Most professional ebook creators are dealing directly with HTML and CSS at some point in the creation process, because the WSIWYG and traditional desktop publishing tools lack the support to create ebooks that look great out of the box.
Includes Full Source and Examples!
The purpose of this book is to provide examples of common functionality needed for textual ebooks. The focus is on HTML that will work for EPUBs and cleanly convert to both Mobi 7 and Kindle Format 8 (KF8) files using KindleGen. Included with the examples is the source code as well as examples illustrating the out of the box rendering and the enhanced CSS rendering. Though best effort has been made to ensure the examples work on all platforms, there are limitations and some features are not supported across every platform.
