USCIS requires that applicant demonstrates an understanding of English language, including an ability to read, write, and speak words in ordinary usage.

Test takers will need to be able to read the questions and write the answers correctly for the English Literacy portion of the test. Each test will contain no more than three (3) sentences randomly picked.
