An enthusiastically marginal rock band from New York City who like big drums and broken guitars, cassette recorders, loops, feedback, sad country songs, molten stoner core, chopped and screwed hip-hop, imaginary movie scores, mushrooms, girls, and cheese sandwiches.

Prior to SQÅ“RL Jarmusch, Logan and Stoneback released tracks as Bad Rabbit appearing only on the soundtrack to Jarmusch's film The Limits of Control.

ATP Recordings are proud to present the first of SQÅ“RL's releases. The group's sound reflects and expands upon the minimalist, brooding nature of their previous released work; it is slow, psychedelic, and atmospheric. Elements as diverse as the doom-laden instrumentalist drone of Sunn O))) and Wooden Shjips, can be found as well as the classic Americana of Neil Young's Crazy Horse, and a hazey, distorted 50s country twang recalling nighttime Memphis.

The release comes as a deluxe numbered limited edition 12'' picture disc, with only 1000 being pressed worldwide. Featuring photo postcard art taken from Luc Sante's Folk Photography book. Includes a postcard backed with a download code.
