FLEXTRIM # WM105: 3/4" x 3/4" Flexible Quarter Round Molding - 8' feet Long
.75" x .75" and 96 inches long Flexible Quarter Round Molding with a light oak grain texture for stain and paint applications.
Made in America. Can be painted or stained using a GEL based stain - installs with normal woodworking tools
Do not use for sharp bullnose type corners - Can flex to fit as small as a 6" radius (think 12" wide circle)
Will flex to fit a minimum radius of 6" inches to go around curved stairs, columns and walls
Waterproof, can be used for interior and exterior applications - will not expand or contract over time.
Conventional woodworking tools can be used with this material. Use gel based adhesive continuously on the backside and nails to secure moulding in place until adhesive bonds. Remember - do not use staples to fasten material, keep nails to a minimum (no closer than 6 inches between nails), and do not nail closer than 3/8 inch from edge of moulding. Flex Trim is stable and will not absorb moisture and is ideal for humid environments. It is not affected by heat or cold and can withstand extreme environments. ALWAYS lay out the material to let it relax back into its original shape; this is a good time to double-check molding style and application. NEVER pre-finish the material prior to installation. The material may flex during installation and cause fractures in the finish. ALWAYS make certain that the surface you are applying the material to is flat and smooth. Flexible molding will follow any irregularities in the surface. NEVER use staples or nails with large heads. Keep nails to a minimum and away from edges to avoid "bumps" at the edge. ALWAYS use a construction adhesive in conjunction with (or in lieu of) nails or screws. This will ensure a quick and easy application and a cleaner finished look. Clean with acetone or 91% rubbing alcohol (any solvent that evaporates quickly) If you are going to paint: Do not use pre-catalyzed primers/paints. No need to prime. BUT - Prime with Kilz if using an oil based paint. If you are going to stain: use gel based stains for best results (Minwax makes a great gel based stain) IF you need to fill nail holes: the best filler is epoxy (2 part syringe type) but Bondo for wood and "plastic wood" brand as well as Minwax wood fillers work well. Use a GEL type super glue for installation (Loctite PL premium adhesive works well, so does Liquid Nails) Use more glue and fewer nails. Use smallest gauge nail / brad possible
